β’ Oversee and lead a large team of software engineers focused on developing scalable infrastructure services for customer Drupal, WordPress, and Next.js websites.
β’ Support the team through organizational transitions, challenges, and uncertainties, all while fostering productivity and maintaining morale.
β’ Mentor, coach, and assist engineering talent in their development and troubleshooting efforts.
β’ Manage several critical projects with evolving priorities, ensuring high-quality outcomes while considering on-call responsibilities and operational impacts.
β’ Align team objectives with the broader organizational goals and advocate for positive changes.
β’ Facilitate architecture discussions, assess critical code, offer constructive feedback, and engage in technical dialogues.
β’ Collaborate with immediate team members and cross-functional stakeholders to establish team and organizational objectives.
β’ Convert high-level objectives into actionable tasks, provide feedback, and delegate work within the teamβs scope.
β’ Supervise the health and advancement of Pantheonβs largest infrastructure footprint.
β’ Over 12 years of experience in software development, with a robust background as a Staff or Principal engineer showcasing profound technical expertise.
β’ More than 3 years of direct experience in people management, including overseeing large global teams, mentoring Staff engineers, and managing multiple subteams.
β’ Proven history of enhancing performance management and fostering a high-performance engineering culture by setting clear expectations, providing honest feedback, and nurturing engineers at all levels through structured growth and calibration processes.
β’ Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver multiple concurrent projects while engaging directly with customers and external communities.
β’ Experience in leading cloud and infrastructure modernization initiatives across large critical fleets.
β’ Proficient with AI coding assistants and have insights on how they transform team workflows.
β’ Strong practitioner of Agile, Scrum, or other structured development methodologies.
β’ Direct experience in designing platforms that run cloud-based applications at scale.
β’ In-depth understanding of distributed systems, scalable cloud architectures, and cloud technologies, including Kubernetes/K8S, GCP GKE, AWS ECS/EKS, Google Cloud Run, AWS Lambda, MySQL, MariaDB, Cloud SQL, Redis, and Memcached.
β’ Hands-on experience managing and automating extensive Linux-based fleets using Terraform and dynamic provisioning systems.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of computer science fundamentals, encompassing data structures and algorithms.
β’ Familiarity with Python, Golang, or other contemporary programming languages.
β’ Must possess authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available at this time.
