Senior Engineering, Integration Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Zambia.

📋 Description

• Act as the principal technical and design authority for the Mingomba copper project throughout its design and construction phases.

• Maintain full accountability for engineering quality, integrity, and integration among KoBold's owner's team, EPCM, and specialized contractors.

• Define the basis of design, engineering standards, and design criteria.

• Manage the technical risk register and facilitate the resolution of engineering-related risks.

• Approve essential engineering deliverables, including P&IDs, design criteria, equipment datasheets, and technical specifications.

• Oversee scope freeze, change control, stage-gate reviews, and technical submissions.

• Guide the technical performance of EPCM and specialized contractors by utilizing engineering management plans and earned value metrics.

• Lead reviews focused on constructability, operability, maintainability, value engineering, HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and process safety.

• Manage engineering integration across various disciplines and coordinate interfaces with stakeholders, regulators, infrastructure providers, and Zambian technical authorities.

• Establish engineering data management systems, quality plans, review programs, and auditable handover procedures.

• Build and lead the KoBold engineering team, determine resource needs, enhance capabilities, and mentor senior engineers.

• Ensure that operational readiness requirements are incorporated into the design.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 18 years of professional engineering experience in major capital projects within mining, minerals processing, oil and gas, or comparable heavy industry, with substantial experience as the lead engineering authority on the owner's side.

• Proven history of delivering projects through the entire lifecycle from FEED to mechanical completion, including at least one project with a total capital cost exceeding $700M.

• Extensive experience in managing and directing EPCM contractors.

• A robust multi-discipline technical background encompassing civil/structural, mechanical, process, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.

• Proficiency in constructability reviews, operability reviews, value engineering, and facilitating HAZOP/HAZID sessions.

• Experience in developing and implementing engineering management plans, technical risk registers, design basis documents, and stage-gate technical submissions.

• Familiarity with earned value management, engineering progress measurement, and performance reporting within an owner's team context.

• Excellent communication and influencing skills for presentations to project leadership, boards, regulators, and external technical stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in an engineering discipline.

• Willingness and ability to travel internationally to Zambia, with an expected travel commitment of over 90 days per year.
