Senior Engineer, Supplier Quality

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.

📋 Description

• Oversee a supplier portfolio and act as the primary liaison between suppliers, Corporate QA, and the Shanghai Office QA.

• Assess the maintenance of supplier QMS via vigilance audits, with an emphasis on P&PC and quality control.

• Assist and motivate suppliers in the development of master process validation plans and oversee their execution.

• Coordinate and address non-conformities with both stakeholders and suppliers.

• Guide and work together with supplier representatives on quality-related issues, complaints, rejections, and findings.

• Ensure the prompt implementation of CAPA and SCAR corrective actions and contribute to programs aimed at enhancing supplier quality.

• Follow up on supplier CAPA resulting from QSR and social accountability audits.

• Monitor supplier capacity and the volumes of purchases.

• Establish and uphold supplier ratings while executing improvement initiatives.

• Manage supplier change requests from inception to completion, assessing their effects on product quality and QMS.

• Facilitate the transfer of QA/QC expertise from QE to SQE post supplier approval for mass production.

• Transfer development-to-production documentation, conduct pre-production meetings, align inspection attributes, and train quality control and production staff.

• Recognize and implement enhancements to supplier quality engineering and supplier quality management programs.

• Collaborate with QC/QA to refine product inspection criteria utilizing LEAN principles.

• Provide support and mentorship to junior team members.

• Oversee complex projects that address both internal and external quality improvement requests.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor or the supplier quality manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience or qualifications specifically related to supplier quality engineering are not explicitly required.

• Capability to manage suppliers and serve as the primary contact between suppliers and Corporate QA as well as Shanghai Office QA.

• Required knowledge includes QMS, P&PC, quality control, CAPA, SCAR, QSR, SA audits, supplier ratings, change requests, QA/QC, LEAN, and quality inspection processes as outlined in the duties.

• Ability to support and mentor junior members.

• Competence to accomplish tasks assigned by the supervisor or supplier quality manager.
