Senior Engineer – SCADA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Plan, organize, and oversee engineering studies to identify the requirements for SCADA systems.

• Design and draft technical specifications for intricate SCADA control systems, focusing on distribution operations.

• Assess process computer systems and suggest software enhancements.

• Develop operational logic and manage process computer programming.

• Perform engineering analysis of field test data and plant operations to ensure compliance.

• Lead the design and configuration of SCADA systems for the transition to Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS).

• Create mapping and device configurations for analog points, status updates, and virtual controls within distribution systems.

• Address emergency RT SCADA requests from Operations and assist with technician and stakeholder Work Order requests.

• Coordinate the testing and commissioning of RTUs, line reclosers, capacitor banks, and transformers.

• Prepare and evaluate operational and maintenance manuals, procedures, and training programs.

• Simulate operational failures and suggest program modifications.

• Review and estimate costs associated with control systems and instrumentation equipment.

• Draft technical reports, system analyses, and project communications.

• Lead troubleshooting and diagnostics for SCADA systems and communication devices.

• Integrate SCADA systems with OSI PI and AVEVA historians.

• Create or modify PLC programs utilizing Structured Text, Function Block Diagrams, and Ladder Logic.

• Configure and diagnose Modbus, DNP3, and OPC UA communication protocols.

• Ensure adherence to NERC CIP-004 standards, including regular background checks.

• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and field technicians to guarantee project success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 8–10 years of professional SCADA engineering experience, including leadership responsibilities.

• Must be a US Citizen or hold a valid Green Card (Permanent Resident Card).

• Experience with SCADA systems and distribution operations.

• Proficient in Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS).

• Experience in PLC programming using Structured Text, Function Block Diagrams, and Ladder Logic.

• Familiarity with integrating SCADA systems with OSI PI and AVEVA historians.

• Experience in configuring and troubleshooting Modbus, DNP3, and OPC UA protocols.

• Knowledge of NERC CIP-004 compliance.

• Ability to lead troubleshooting and diagnostics for SCADA systems and communication devices.
