Senior Engineer – Perception Modeling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and development of sophisticated perception systems centered on extensive multi-modal foundation models and knowledge generalization across various vehicle generations.

• Design and enhance synthetic data generation along with sensor simulation capabilities for rare edge cases, previously unseen off-log scenarios, and closed-loop evaluations.

• Facilitate the transfer of knowledge from large teacher or foundation models to efficient onboard real-time perception models through distillation and post-training methodologies.

• Implement and deploy solutions across autonomous vehicle fleets.

• Offer technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to both senior and mid-level engineers.

• Work collaboratively with ML engineers and research scientists to progress Level 4 autonomous driving technology.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related discipline.

• A Master's or Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field; or an equivalent level of industry experience.

• Comprehensive understanding of standard Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms.

• Proficient in designing, training, and assessing neural networks for object detection, semantic/instance segmentation, visual classification, motion/gesture recognition, sensor fusion, multitask learning, multi-object tracking, and/or end-to-end perception.

• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.

• Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with standard scientific computing libraries and Python bindings development.

• Extensive knowledge of software engineering principles, including software design, source control management, build processes, code reviews, and testing methodologies.

• Experience in mentoring and leading teams.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

• E-Verify employment eligibility verification is required for newly hired employees.

• Preferred: experience in designing, training, or fine-tuning Foundation Models for autonomous driving or robotic perception.

• Preferred: expertise in World Models, generative video/lidar prediction, scene synthesis, and sensor simulation.

• Preferred: experience with Knowledge Distillation and model compression techniques.

• Preferred: experience with Synthetic Data Generation and multi-modal automated labeling systems.

• Preferred: publications in top-tier computer vision or machine learning conferences.
