This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Install and tailor z/OS through the IBM ServerPac for z/OS methodology.
• Regularly apply updates and fixes to the operating system and program products.
• Analyze and troubleshoot issues related to the operating system and program products.
• Install and provide support for ISV products, including those from CA, BMC, and Rocket Software.
• Estimate and plan for installation, upgrades, and customer transition projects.
• Offer technical support during Disaster Recovery exercises and Business Continuity Processes.
• Implement enhancements, technical strategies, and scalable solutions for intricate mainframe environments.
• Identify and rectify performance-related issues.
• Facilitate project planning by setting and achieving estimates, milestones, target dates, and schedules.
• Develop and enhance standards for installation processes.
• Deliver technical training and mentorship.
• Address software-related issues and respond to ServiceNow customer requests.
• Install, implement, maintain, upgrade, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize client infrastructure solutions.
• Maintain network hardware, software, and communication links.
• Ensure data integrity and security at the enterprise level across host computers and databases.
• Conduct database installations, patching, upgrades, tuning, monitoring, replication, backups, security, user management, and resource management.
• Research and suggest infrastructure products, services, and standards.
• Engage in Disaster Recovery exercises and planning initiatives.
• Adhere to change control, incident response, and testing protocols.
• Monitor equipment performance, space allocation, and data growth while recommending enhancements.
• Create scripts to automate routine tasks.
• Update customer incident tickets and change orders, providing status updates.
• Generate reports tailored to business user requirements.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and training programs.
• Create reusable Managed Services assets.
• Foster client relationships through conference calls and collaborative account management.
• Collaborate with Continuous Improvement on pre-sales support, service design, and scoping activities.
• Provide technical insights for proposal scope, costs, and effort estimates.
• Work alongside project managers on project plans and timelines.
• Attend training and pursue industry-related certifications as specified by management.
• Adhere to time-entry and compliance guidelines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, along with 5 years of experience in installing, maintaining, and supporting mainframe software products for IBM mainframes, and executing system management tasks, OR 9 years of equivalent experience.
• Proven experience with z/OSMF Configuration Assistant.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Proven capability to carry out tasks related to customers’ disaster recovery plans.
• Proficient in the majority of UNIX Systems Services, z/OS, REXX/CLIST, and JCL.
• Demonstrated experience with ISV products in system management, security, data management, application development, and performance optimization.
• Proven ability to implement and troubleshoot IT infrastructure systems and configurations within the designated area of expertise.
• Capacity to acquire additional technical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workloads effectively.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to investigate issues and apply problem-solving techniques.
• Capacity to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively in a managed services environment.
• Resourcefulness when working with various client and internal departments.
• Ability to provide guidance and leadership to less experienced technical team members.
• Proven ability to cultivate strong customer relationships and trust to ensure future business opportunities.
