Senior Engineer, Costing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bangladesh.

📋 Description

• Oversee the operations related to development costing.

• Collaborate with sourcing development and brand stakeholders to enhance costing processes and seasonal development costing.

• Assist in the modernization and standardization of costing strategies, employing consistent, data-driven, automated, and efficient methods.

• Engage with product sourcing teams and vendors located in manufacturing countries.

• Utilize product and manufacturing knowledge to design cost-effective solutions and achieve savings on product costs.

• Employ harmonized and scalable fact-based costing methodologies.

• Promote connectivity and facilitate seamless information exchange among vendors and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Oversee seasonal development costing milestones and related activities.

• Lead negotiations with vendor partners utilizing fact-based costing methodologies and product engineering to enhance profitability.

• Provide perspectives on FOB and landed costing to support sourcing strategies and vendor allocations.

• Ensure compliance with costing procedures by costing operations teams and vendors.

• Monitor and report on key metrics related to performance, efficiency, and transparency.

• Exhibit leadership within the product supply organization.

• Enhance costing productivity and efficiency by removing redundancies, automating repetitive tasks, and optimizing processes.

• Lead and engage in cross-functional initiatives and conduct analyses, delivering results in a dynamic environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in industrial garment manufacturing, buying office, or trading company.

• Capability to comprehend technical specifications, Bills of Materials, and garment constructions.

• Familiarity with fabric weaving, construction methods, and various dyeing processes is advantageous.

• Understanding of embellishments, including print techniques, embroidery, and quilting, is a plus.

• Experience with sweater knits and accessories is beneficial.

• Ability to influence others and foster consensus.

• Experience in adapting to change, redesigning business processes, or process reengineering.

• Strong negotiation, analytical, and reasoning capabilities.

• Motivation to learn and adopt new methods, tools, and technologies.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

• Effective communication skills: diplomatic, open, good listener, direct, and concise.

• Oral and written fluency in English.

• Demonstrated knowledge and interest in development costing processes, sourcing, and allocation strategies.

• Proven success in embracing change and transformation.

• Experience in business process improvements is preferred.
