Senior Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the development and enhancement of core engine, rendering, and graphics systems using Unreal Engine 5.

• Analyze, profile, and address performance issues related to CPU, GPU, memory, and specific platform challenges.

• Collaborate with gameplay engineers, technical artists, and content teams to pinpoint bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions.

• Take charge of performance and optimization strategies, establish best practices, and provide technical guidance across various projects.

• Actively contribute to engine-level development, rendering pipelines, graphics features, and low-level systems programming.

• Offer advice to internal teams and clients regarding risks, trade-offs, and actionable recommendations.

• Identify technical challenges proactively and drive solutions with minimal supervision.

• Guide engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and providing technical leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive professional experience as a Senior, Lead, or Principal engineer.

• Profound expertise in game engine and graphics programming.

• In-depth knowledge of Unreal Engine 5, including its architecture, rendering systems, performance profiling, and optimization methods.

• Strong grasp of graphics programming essentials, GPU performance, rendering pipelines, shaders, and contemporary graphics APIs.

• Experience in optimizing games or real-time applications across PC, console, or other hardware platforms.

• Awareness of hardware-level performance limitations.

• Exceptional C++ programming skills and familiarity with low-level engine systems.

• Capability to work independently and take charge of intricate technical challenges.

• Strong communication abilities and experience working with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and technical leadership.

• Enthusiasm for tackling challenging engineering problems and enhancing performance, scalability, and technical quality.
