Senior Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Create a software factory platform by implementing agile development methodologies.

• Utilize GitOps processes to establish a DevSecOps platform that enables developer teams to deploy software in the federal sector.

• Employ open-source and Cloud Native Computing Foundation Kubernetes framework to deliver a lightweight, vendor-neutral system.

• Develop Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code using GitCI.

• Take advantage of AWS cloud infrastructure.

• Generate Helm charts and deploy them to EKS.

• Write scripts in Bash, Python, Perl, and Go.

• Identify automation opportunities.

• Integrate services with Kubernetes and third-party systems.

• Acquire knowledge of new tools based on foundational skills.

• Analyze logs to identify coding issues.

• Contribute to open-source projects.

• Attend daily scrum meetings, bi-weekly sprint planning sessions, quarterly milestone planning, and ad-hoc pairing sessions.

• Travel to client sites both domestically and internationally, up to 35% of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required for employment.

• All tasks must be performed within the continental U.S.

• 4-5+ years of industry experience is necessary for senior-level roles.

• 3-5 years of experience with Kubernetes, including EKS and Docker.

• Familiarity with Istio, Custom Kubernetes Operators, Custom Helm charts, Custom Admission Controllers, Custom CRDs, or Custom Controllers.

• 2+ years of experience in building, operating, and maintaining compliant computing environments in AWS or Azure using Terraform/Helm for deployments.

• Knowledge of Golang for cloud-based or server-side solutions.

• Proficiency in Python for scripting, debugging, and resolving issues.

• Experience in creating CI/CD pipelines for production, development, and testing environments.

• Familiarity with Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.

• Experience in building and managing containers using Docker.

• Awareness of container security, hardening, baselining, and CI/CD practices.

• Experience working as a DevSecOps Engineer on Kubernetes-scale challenges.

• Proficient in debugging cluster-based computing architectures.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• One of the following certifications: CISM, CISSP, CISA, CCISO, CCNP Security, GLSC, or Security X.

• CKA or CKAD certification is required.

• Active Secret security clearance is needed.

• Highly preferred: experience with the DoD’s Platform One, Big Bang, and/or Iron Bank.

• Highly preferred: capability to develop custom Kubernetes Operators.
