Senior Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of product features and address medium to large customer challenges from inception through to production.

• Deliver solutions that provide value to customers while making pragmatic trade-offs.

• Pose insightful questions regarding customers, product value, and market fit to guide product and engineering choices.

• Utilize AI tools throughout the development lifecycle with thoughtful consideration.

• Maintain simplicity in code and architecture; identify and rectify unnecessary complexity and poor abstractions.

• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, design, and science colleagues in a small, autonomous team.

• Conduct thorough code reviews, mentor engineers, and strive to improve the codebase.

• Engage actively in regular hackdays and team learning sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline; or equivalent experience in software development.

• Extensive experience in Python or a comparable modern programming language.

• Familiarity with relational databases.

• Self-motivated and proactive.

• Inquisitive, with a tendency to support assumptions with data.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficient in utilizing AI tools within the software development lifecycle.

• Dedication to personal growth and self-care.

• Experience in mentoring or coaching fellow engineers.

• Must reside in and possess unrestricted right to work in the UK.

• Bonus: Significant experience in Python, Django, and the Django REST framework.

• Bonus: Frontend development experience with TypeScript and React.

• Bonus: Strong comprehension of software engineering principles, distributed system architecture, and production deployment.

• Bonus: Experience in developing and maintaining fast, scalable, and well-documented APIs.
