Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and sustain embedded software using modern C++ for IntelliSep instrument platforms and Linux-based systems.

• Assist in platform modernization initiatives, incorporating embedded OS upgrades, toolchain enhancements, and improvements to software infrastructure.

• Create Python-based tools, build systems, and CI/CD pipelines to facilitate verification and validation (V&V), manufacturing, service, and data workflows.

• Diagnose intricate problems involving software, firmware, operating systems, networking, and instrument hardware.

• Develop and maintain interfaces between different instrument subsystems, such as imaging, motion control, sensing, and software services.

• Write and uphold software requirements, architecture/design specifications, and quality system lifecycle documents.

• Participate in software V&V, maintain cybersecurity, address vulnerabilities, manage risks, and engage in secure product development tasks.

• Share engineering expertise through documentation, architecture evaluations, and mentorship.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 8 years of experience in developing embedded software for complex electromechanical systems.

• Proficient in C++ programming on Linux-based systems, with extensive experience in multi-threading and performance optimization.

• Familiarity with integrating and troubleshooting complex instrumentation (motion control, imaging, sensors, networking) using tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.

• Strong skills in Python programming.

• Experience in developing and managing CI/CD infrastructure, cross-compilation environments, and automated verification workflows.

• Proficient in authoring software requirements, architecture documents, and design specifications.

• Proven ability to independently resolve cross-disciplinary issues with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
