This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Create and evaluate concepts and designs for lunar landers, rovers, surface power systems, and spacecraft.
• Assist in generating technical content for B&P, R&D, and mission opportunities.
• Formulate system-level technical visions that link customer requirements with viable solutions across both hardware and software.
• Conduct trade studies to inform technical, business, and programmatic decision-making.
• Execute power and avionics design and analysis for mission concepts.
• Optimize power architectures to fulfill mission objectives and requirements.
• Contribute to project timelines, resource allocation, and budget estimations.
• Liaise with engineering disciplines, partners, customers, and vendors to address technical risks and challenges.
• Engage in customer and partner visits as well as technical exchange meetings.
• Convert customer requirements into product goals and system architectures for clients, proposals, and stakeholders.
• Take part in cross-functional meetings to ensure engineering solutions align with mission and business needs, as well as the technology roadmap.
• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field, along with 10 years of pertinent engineering experience.
• An advanced degree in a relevant field may be accepted in place of equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in one or more areas: space system development, systems engineering, structure/thermal design and analysis, avionics, power systems, propulsion, orbital mechanics, electrical systems, mechanical and fluid systems, software and controls, modeling and simulation, and/or manufacturing.
• Experience in crafting technical content for proposals and presentations to external customers.
• Experience in authoring and breaking down mission and system-level requirements.
• Strong comprehension of launch, space, and lunar environments.
• Knowledge of comprehensive end-to-end mission solutions.
• Experience in developing mission architecture.
• Proficient in writing and reviewing software scripts for automation and analysis.
• Familiarity with NASA/industry engineering standards.
• Experience in an agile environment, utilizing tools such as Confluence and Jira.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
• Must be a U.S. Person: a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or a protected individual under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3).
• Must be eligible to receive the necessary export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or Department of Commerce.
