Senior Electrical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Design and evaluate electrical systems for solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) installations.

• Develop system layouts, stringing plans, voltage drop calculations, and detailed specifications.

• Provide construction support through site visits and technical assessments.

• Create and maintain system drawings, equipment specifications, and comprehensive reports.

• Ensure adherence to NEC, NESC, and other industry regulations.

• Collaborate effectively with project managers, clients, and regulatory bodies.

• Review vendor submissions and coordinate with the procurement team.

• Maintain precise documentation within project management databases.

• Offer insights and enhancements based on field conditions.

• Assist with permitting processes and interconnection stipulations.

• Travel to job sites as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.

• 3–5 years of experience in solar, renewable energy, or power systems design.

• Familiarity with the NEC and relevant renewable energy standards.

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PVCase, and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

• Preferred experience with DC and AC electrical systems, including low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) systems.

• Preferred experience with electrical drawing sets and single-line diagrams (SLDs).

• Preferred experience with material takeoffs.

• Preferred experience with equipment approval drawings and submissions.

• Preferred experience with constructability reviews.

• Preferred field or construction experience.

• Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, and walk for extended durations.

• Must be capable of lifting and carrying items weighing up to 20 lbs.

• Occasional travel to project sites is necessary.
