This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Oversee electrical engineering and design initiatives for both capital and maintenance projects, guiding them from conception to commissioning.
• Create and assess electrical engineering outputs, such as single-line diagrams, power distribution designs, equipment layouts, cable and conduit schedules, routing plans, grounding and lightning protection systems, interconnecting wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Conduct and evaluate load flow, short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash, and motor starting analyses.
• Produce equipment data sheets, RFQs, technical bid assessments, and equipment recommendations.
• Engage in client meetings, site inspections, startup activities, and provide commissioning support.
• Coordinate engineering efforts across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, structural, civil, process, and instrumentation teams.
• Assist in proposal development, define scope, and prepare engineering estimates.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers, offering technical guidance throughout project teams.
• Perform design reviews and ensure adherence to relevant codes, standards, and quality procedures.
• Contribute to business development efforts as a reliable technical advisor to clients.
• A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• A valid Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Over 20 years of experience in electrical engineering within consulting settings.
• In-depth knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems.
• Strong familiarity with substations and switchgear.
• Comprehensive understanding of protective relaying systems.
• Proficient knowledge of motor control centers (MCCs).
• Solid understanding of variable frequency drives (VFDs).
• Strong grasp of emergency and standby power systems.
• Extensive knowledge of industrial grounding systems.
• Experience with electrical power system modeling software such as SKM, ETAP, or similar tools.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
• Exceptional written communication skills, technical report writing, and client engagement capabilities.
• Ability to work autonomously while leading project teams and managing multiple concurrent tasks.
• Preferred: Experience in project management, overseeing engineering scope, budget, and timeline.
• Preferred: Familiarity with NETA testing standards.
• Preferred: Knowledge of NFPA 70B.
• Preferred: Ability to interpret testing results, identify equipment deficiencies, develop corrective action recommendations, and support reliability improvement initiatives.
