This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of electrical application engineering for prefabricated platforms until design freeze.
• Spearhead the development of PDCs, switchgear configurations, MCCs, UPS-integrated systems, and packaged controls assemblies.
• Convert customer one-lines, specifications, and operational sequences into solutions that can be manufactured.
• Specify and size breakers, bus duct, transformers, UPS systems, VFDs, protective devices, and monitoring components.
• Create and uphold electrical one-lines, wiring diagrams, panel schedules, interlock descriptions, datasheets, and submittals.
• Record electrical assumptions, exclusions, interfaces, and open risks for estimates and execution purposes.
• Develop application guides, configuration notes, and electrical integration assumptions.
• Collaborate with mechanical and controls teams to seamlessly integrate systems with BAS/BMS and EPMS architectures.
• Produce vendor-ready electrical requirement packages and address technical clarifications.
• Ensure electrical designs align with vendor capacity, cost targets, lead times, and delivery schedules.
• Maintain accuracy of the electrical BOM and identify risks regarding cost, supply chain, and lead times.
• Assist in prototyping, FAT/SAT, and first-article builds; diagnose issues and bridge gaps.
• Work closely with vendors and fabricators on layouts, routing, labeling, and QA/QC standards.
• Contribute to modular electrical designs and DFM/VAVE intellectual property development.
• Complete assigned tasks on schedule and within budget.
• Undertake other related responsibilities as required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Over 7 years of experience in electrical systems, power distribution, or industrial product development.
• Experience in mission-critical environments or data centers is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical system principles, including load analysis, grounding, protection coordination, and arc-flash safety.
• Extensive knowledge of prefabricated and modular electrical equipment, such as PDCs, switchgear, MCCs, UPS systems, generators, transformers, and bus duct.
• Proficient in CAD software, including AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, or similar applications.
• Experienced with electrical analysis tools like ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.
• Familiar with mechanical systems, controls, and automation.
• Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, UL, and NFPA 70E standards.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain strict revision control.
• Strong analytical abilities for assessing technical trade-offs and solving complex design issues.
• Capable of translating customer requirements into manufacturable, scalable technical solutions.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple deliverables, and adhere to design freeze timelines.
• Excellent collaboration skills across mechanical, controls, sales, supply chain, and operations teams.
• Ability to independently manage configuration decisions and execution readiness.
• Proficient in troubleshooting during prototyping, FAT/SAT, and first-article builds.
• Capable of working effectively in a remote setting with minimal supervision and strong self-management skills.
• Ability to utilize AI and emerging technologies to enhance workflows.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to rent vehicles.
• Must possess a valid REAL ID or an acceptable alternative, like a passport, for business air travel.
• Preferred: experience with data center electrical systems, FAT/SAT or system-level electrical testing, ETAP/SKM/EasyPower, and ERP/CRM systems such as NetSuite or HubSpot.
