This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Operate, oversee, and enhance extensive Elasticsearch and OpenSearch platforms.

• Analyze and resolve incidents at the 2nd and 3rd levels of support.

• Conduct root cause analyses and implement lasting solutions.

• Ensure the availability, performance, and stability of critical business systems.

• Monitor cluster health and troubleshoot complex issues within the platform.

• Optimize indexing, sharding, and storage strategies.

• Further develop monitoring and observability solutions.

• Collaborate with global DevOps, SRE, and platform teams.

• Automate routine operational tasks.

• Create and maintain runbooks, operational documentation, and best practices.

• Participate in a 24/7 operational organization and on-call rotation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in roles such as Elastic Engineer, OpenSearch Engineer, ELK Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, Platform Operations Engineer, or Observability Engineer.

• Practical experience with Elasticsearch and/or OpenSearch.

• Experience in managing production logging or monitoring platforms.

• Knowledge of cluster operations, sharding, replication, index management, performance tuning, and incident management.

• Strong Linux skills.

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability solutions.

• Proficient in both written and spoken English and German.

• Desirable: Knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, Argo CD, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Kafka, Python, Bash, Ansible, infrastructure as code, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
