This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.
• Take ownership and provide support for the design of data architecture for enterprise data warehouse projects.
• Analyze source data, data flows, business requirements, and the needs of downstream consumers.
• Conduct investigations using Teradata SQL, perform detailed technical analysis, and validate solutions.
• Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, various domains, engineers, testers, delivery leads, and fellow architects.
• Evaluate design alternatives and recommend practical, scalable solutions that align with established standards.
• Create and maintain High-Level Designs, Architecture Design Decisions, solution alternatives, design justification, assumptions, risks, and governance-ready documentation.
• Present design concepts and recommendations to Architecture Boards and governance forums.
• Integrate data governance, metadata, lineage, controls, reconciliation, auditability, privacy, and regulatory compliance into the design of solutions.
• Assist in metadata-driven delivery frameworks.
• Support delivery teams throughout the build, testing, implementation, and resolution of issues.
• Engage in approximately 50% hands-on work involving SQL investigations, detailed data analysis, solution validation, and delivery support.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering and architecture.
• At least 5 years of experience in data architecture, serving as a Data Architect or senior Data Engineering Lead with demonstrable ownership of architecture.
• Proficient hands-on experience with Teradata in an on-premises EDW environment.
• Advanced skills in Teradata SQL querying, data investigation, issue analysis, and technical validation.
• Practical experience with the Teradata Financial Services Data Model or a comparable financial services data model.
• Strong comprehension of EDW design, data marts, data integration patterns, and large-scale data platform delivery.
• Experience within banking, financial services, or regulatory data environments.
• Knowledge of BCBS 239, RDARR, regulatory reporting, data traceability, auditability, and evidence-based control design.
• Excellent skills in data analysis and data modeling.
• Proven capability to produce governance-ready High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Architecture Design Decisions (ADDs) and present to Architecture Boards.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, independent ownership, the ability to provide constructive challenges, and drive decisions.
• Mandatory: Teradata on-prem EDW and advanced SQL proficiency.
• Mandatory: Teradata FSDM or a comparable financial services data model.
• Mandatory: Inmon-style integrated EDW architecture experience.
• Familiarity with ETL delivery processes and tools, preferably Informatica and/or DataStage.
• Experience with metadata-driven ingestion, transformation, control, and reconciliation frameworks.
• Knowledge of Control-M or similar batch scheduling and orchestration tools.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with the Teradata Global Control Framework or a similar control framework.
• Nice to have: Experience with Cloudera or comparable big data platforms.
• Nice to have: Knowledge of modern hybrid warehouse/lake architecture patterns.
• Nice to have: Experience in data observability, operational resilience, and production support.
• Nice to have: A broader hands-on background in data engineering.
• Long-term contract-based position.
• Contract duration through December 2026 with the potential for extension into 2027.
• Remote-first work arrangement.
• Occasional on-site participation in client workshops.
