Data Platform Engineer – Mid-level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess and analyze current CI/CD pipelines to identify task requirements.

• Modify existing CI/CD patterns to accommodate new tasks.

• Enhance infrastructure-as-code in line with repository standards.

• Implement data engineering and governance practices for new services, including naming conventions, access control, and data retention.

• Develop self-service tools based on existing templates.

• Establish a template repository that includes integrated CI, IaC, and governance components.

• Create modules that streamline the process of initiating a new pipeline with a single command.

• Produce documentation that addresses common inquiries without needing an engineer's input.

• Manage the access-request process for data resources.

• Oversee the template repository and IaC modules, guiding their future direction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Have independently managed an end-to-end deployment path, including writing the pipeline, resolving production issues, and documenting the runbook.

• Capability to examine unfamiliar code, explain its functionality, and pinpoint potential issues.

• Approximately 2 years of relevant professional experience.

• Proficient in Python and SQL for daily tasks.

• Experience with Docker.

• Familiarity with cloud concepts, particularly AWS.

• Comfortable transitioning between data engineering, backend development, and infrastructure tasks.

• Openness to using AI tools such as Copilot, Claude, or Cursor, and the ability to justify their outputs.

• Note that this position does not involve frontend responsibilities.

• This is not a machine learning research position and does not include model training.
