This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Formulate negotiation strategies, set mandates, and evaluate offers and counteroffers between the pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance (pCPA) and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
• Perform in-depth analyses of financial systems, medication usage, and environmental assessments.
• Recognize and evaluate regulatory matters, contractual obligations, and legal ramifications associated with negotiations.
• Execute targeted cost-utility, cost-reduction, and budget-impact analyses.
• Thoroughly review manufacturers’ intricate and confidential pricing proposals.
• Assess outcomes-based offers and their implications for the healthcare system.
• Lead or assist in quantitative research concerning the pharmaceutical landscape.
• Oversee or co-facilitate negotiations with drug manufacturers on behalf of the pCPA.
• Develop and enhance negotiation methodologies and frameworks.
• Direct project management tasks and prepare deliverables, reports, implementation plans, and communication materials.
• Oversee the creation of training materials and resources.
• Gather, organize, and analyze data.
• Guide the creation and evaluation of reports and analyses.
• Prepare solutions, policy documents, slide presentations, briefing notes, memoranda, and reports for senior management.
• Conduct consultations and coordinate with public drug plans and external experts.
• Assist in developing performance, risk, and negotiation-effectiveness indicators.
• Support the formulation, review, or analysis of policies, programs, and initiatives.
• Foster relationships with government entities and external organizations to implement coordinated interventions.
• Represent the pCPA on working groups and committees.
• Aid in the development of business plans.
• Stay updated on industry trends.
• Reports to Management, Analytics.
• Bachelor’s degree in health economics, finance, business administration, a clinical or scientific discipline (including pharmacy, pharmacology, or medical sciences), or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in health economics evaluation and budget-impact analysis.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience conducting detailed quantitative analyses.
• At least 3 years of experience working with data to support analytical, research, or strategic initiatives.
• Experience in preparing reports, briefing notes, or presentations.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical sciences, health services research, government, or regulatory sectors.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proven ability to deliver presentations to both technical and general audiences.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in French (an asset).
• Comprehensive understanding of the Canadian pharmaceutical industry and governmental processes.
• Demonstrated ability to present to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and independent decision-making skills, informed by established procedures and relevant contextual factors.
• Capability to lead and build consensus without formal authority.
• Strong business and digital acumen.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Experience mentoring or coaching staff members (an asset).
• Experience supervising working groups and project teams (an asset).
• Experience supporting negotiation strategies through economic and financial expertise (an asset).
