This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Direct the design, modernization, and implementation strategies for enterprise Drupal solutions that adhere to DHS technical standards and cloud-hosted environments.
• Define application architectures for Drupal, addressing both monolithic and headless/decoupled approaches.
• Establish architectural patterns, coding standards, and reusable components.
• Guide the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of custom Drupal modules.
• Review and validate contributed modules and third-party libraries.
• Enhance Drupal performance through effective caching, content architecture, and page-rendering techniques.
• Architect Drupal integrations with identity solutions like Okta SSO, data services, cloud hosting, and external APIs.
• Ensure that Drupal applications function effectively with systems and databases across DHS enterprise environments.
• Guarantee compliance with DHS security directives, cloud security controls, and NIST-aligned safeguards.
• Validate accessibility compliance with Section 508 WCAG 2.0 A/AA and support Trusted Tester methodologies.
• Oversee functional, regression, accessibility, usability, and integration testing processes.
• Provide technical guidance during releases, migrations, deployments, and environment configurations alongside DevOps teams.
• Assess emerging Drupal capabilities, frameworks, hosting models, and tools.
• Advise leadership on Drupal roadmaps, platform consolidation, and strategies for enterprise reuse.
• Mentor developers, analysts, and architects.
• Produce or oversee SELC documentation, architectural diagrams, data flows, module specifications, and user/developer guides.
• Support governance reviews, change control, and technical assessments for Drupal enhancements and modernization initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 11 years of progressive technical or functional experience in a specific technical area or specialty skill.
• US Citizenship and the ability to successfully pass a government-issued background investigation.
• Capability to obtain a Public Trust.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to inspire and guide technical teams.
• Experience with Drupal, Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Power Platform, SharePoint, Office 365, Azure, Dataverse, Confluence, Jira, and ServiceNow.
• Familiarity with DHS technical standards, cloud-hosted environments, DHS security directives such as 4300A, cloud security controls, NIST-aligned safeguards, Section 508, WCAG 2.0 A/AA, and Trusted Tester methodologies.
• Microsoft Certification is preferred.
