Senior DNS Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create APIs and control plane software for the DNS Products team.

• Diagnose issues and enhance the customer experience.

• Take ownership of product offerings from inception to completion.

• Design, implement, test, and enhance scalable services and tools to tackle performance and monitoring challenges.

• Work in collaboration with Networking teams to develop innovative products and services tailored for developers.

• Maintain existing products and devise inventive solutions to address customer challenges.

• Enhance tools and processes for delivering reliable, mission-critical ecosystem components.

• Set best practices for development and architecture.

• Utilize technologies such as Go, Consul, Kafka, SQL, Chef, Git, Jira, gRPC, Prometheus, Grafana, Lightstep, Docker, DNS, and Kubernetes.

• Report directly to the Engineering Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in designing and developing full-stack applications that integrate databases and APIs.

• Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives across multiple teams to establish API contracts.

• Proficiency in deploying and managing Linux (Ubuntu)-based virtual and bare metal environments.

• Familiarity with the Go programming language and writing unit tests.

• Some experience in designing and developing high-performance systems.

• Knowledge of DNS and the networking stack, or a strong eagerness to learn.

• Experience in cloud development, containerization, and virtualization.

• Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) practices.

• B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent relevant experience.

• Bonus: Experience with gRPC for building resilient distributed systems under high demand.

• Bonus: Working knowledge of Temporal and Kafka.
