This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +4 more states.
β’ Deliver exceptional customer service to employees of a major Group Insurance client at the onset of their leave.
β’ Manage around 95 Short-Term Disability (STD) claims.
β’ Supervise intricate claims that involve co-morbidities, behavioral health concerns, and self-reported symptoms.
β’ Address customer service inquiries for the designated client.
β’ Familiarize oneself with the client's culture and product offerings to provide outstanding service.
β’ Recognize opportunities to improve the claimant experience.
β’ Advocate for ongoing process enhancements within the Concierge Team.
β’ Collaborate with the client's Leave team during virtual quarterly meetings.
β’ Engage daily with the client's Benefits Business Partners.
β’ Offer technical guidance to other claims staff as necessary.
β’ Utilize team resources to meet objectives.
β’ 2β3 years of experience in Short-Term Disability (STD) is mandatory.
β’ Experience with FMLA/State Leave is preferred.
β’ Skilled in proactive communication through phone, email, letters, Teams messaging, group Teams calls, and one-on-one video calls.
β’ Energetic and customer-oriented, with a proven track record of maintaining robust customer relationships.
β’ Confident in communicating with highly skilled and educated claimants from the software industry, particularly in difficult situations.
β’ Excellent documentation abilities for recording telephone conversations and formulating clear, concise claim plans.
β’ Capable of understanding and interpreting complex and non-standard policy and plan provisions.
β’ Able to independently navigate ambiguous scenarios and adapt swiftly.
β’ Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
β’ Proven analytical and mathematical skills.
β’ Strong teamwork abilities and capacity to leverage resources effectively.
β’ Internet service plan with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and readiness to troubleshoot connectivity issues.
β’ Capability to handle calls using a cell phone with unlimited data and minutes or a landline.
β’ A quiet, distraction-free workspace at home.
β’ Preference for working Pacific Time Zone business hours, or availability to work later shifts to support West Coast customers.
