This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +6 more locations.
• Oversee the design process across Later’s product range, including Later Influence, Later Social, and Mavely.
• Build and manage a team of 5–6 UX designers.
• Collaborate with around 10 product managers and an engineering team of over 100 developers.
• Act as a hands-on principal contributor for key zero-to-one product initiatives.
• Convert business requirements into functional browser-based prototypes and promote rapid experimentation.
• Ensure a high-quality user experience on flagship launches through direct co-creation efforts.
• Transform business strategy and customer insights into a clear design roadmap.
• Identify and address structural gaps within the product experience.
• Innovate agentic UX workflows and create functional AI prototypes.
• Establish UI/UX patterns for human-in-the-loop interactions, AI trust mechanisms, and agentic failure scenarios.
• Incorporate generative AI and computational design into product workflows.
• Lead, mentor, recruit, and nurture the skills of UX designers.
• Collaborate with the CPO, CTO, product managers, and engineering leaders on product and technology strategy.
• Execute design tokens and AI-assisted design-to-code pipelines.
• Co-develop scalable, API-aware front-end architecture strategies.
• Represent design in company-wide planning and prioritization efforts.
• Establish standards for design craft, accessibility, usability, and quality.
• Create repeatable user research processes and convert insights into product priorities.
• Lead AI-assisted prototyping, research synthesis, usability analysis, and design-to-development workflows.
• 10+ years of experience in product design or UX.
• 5+ years of experience in leading and developing a design team.
• Systems-thinking experience across multiple products or teams.
• Strong technical fluency and experience in collaborating with engineering on platform architecture, APIs, data models, frontend frameworks, and implementation trade-offs.
• Experience in building or scaling a design system, pattern library, or shared UX standards.
• Excellent facilitation and communication skills.
• Proven experience in presenting design direction to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience in mentoring and developing designers of varying seniority levels.
• Ability to balance hands-on design work with strategic, portfolio-level thinking.
• Demonstrated proficiency with AI-assisted design, prototyping, and development tools.
• Experience in B2B SaaS, marketplace, or platform products is advantageous.
• Background in influencer marketing, the creator economy, or social/commerce-adjacent areas is a plus.
• Travel required 1–2 times per quarter.
