Lead Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full responsibility for the design of Mobilize, a key product of NGP VAN, from identifying problems to launch and subsequent iterations.

• Define the design vision for the entire NGP VAN product suite.

• Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to impact the roadmap decisions.

• Convert intricate issues into scalable solutions for both legacy user interfaces and AI innovations.

• Lead research initiatives and usability testing efforts.

• Uphold exceptional standards for interaction quality, visual design, and accessibility.

• Contribute to unified design systems and scalable component libraries.

• Guide designers through critiques, strategic planning, and execution phases.

• Create products utilized by campaigns, community organizers, and voters.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in product design.

• A portfolio showcasing complete ownership of intricate, multi-surface experiences.

• Proven experience in designing AI features and utilizing an AI pattern library.

• Proficiency in interaction design and visual aesthetics.

• Background in contributing to scalable design systems.

• Experience in influencing product strategy alongside product managers and engineers.

• A solid research background, including usability testing and analysis of existing data.

• Effective and confident communication with stakeholders.

• Dedication to inclusive design, WCAG accessibility standards, and ethical AI practices.

• Comfort in integrating tools like Claude, V0, and FigmaMake into your workflow.

• Familiarity with front-end development principles, such as HTML/CSS, is preferred.

• Experience in mentoring designers is preferred.

• Must not require current or future sponsorship for employment authorization.

• This position is part of a bargaining unit represented by CWA Local 1400, 2336, or 13000.
