
Senior Director, Technology Strategy – Enablement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Formulate and implement the organization's technology strategy and roadmap.
• Oversee technology operations, software development, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, systems administration, enterprise architecture, and associated technology services.
• Direct strategy, governance, and lifecycle management of enterprise applications.
• Manage AORN's enterprise cybersecurity program, encompassing security strategy, policies, standards, risk assessments, incident response, vulnerability mitigation, and employee security awareness.
• Supervise the design, development, implementation, integration, and ongoing enhancement of internally developed applications, digital products, and technology solutions.
• Create product roadmaps and set technology priorities for enterprise applications and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with business leaders to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and convert organizational needs into software and application solutions.
• Guide the evaluation, adoption, and responsible utilization of emerging technologies, including AI and automation.
• Establish technology standards, governance practices, architectural principles, and operational processes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, including HIPAA, PCI DSS, and NIST frameworks regarding cybersecurity, data protection, privacy, business continuity, disaster recovery, and technology risk management.
• Assess technology solutions, vendors, and service providers, recommending investments, platforms, and strategic partnerships.
• Develop and manage technology budgets, resource plans, contracts, and investments.
• Lead major technology implementations, modernization efforts, system enhancements, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Establish performance metrics and monitor service delivery, operational efficiency, project results, and technology adoption.
• Provide leadership, coaching, performance management, and professional development for technology leaders and team members.
• Communicate technology opportunities, priorities, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay updated on industry trends and evaluate emerging technologies.
• Present technology strategies, priorities, key initiatives, and organizational impacts to the Finance & Audit Committee and Board of Directors.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business, or a related field; or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience.
• Over 10 years of progressively responsible experience in leading software development, enterprise applications, digital products, technology strategy, business systems, or similar technology functions.
• More than 5 years of experience in leading professional staff, managers, software development teams, product teams, or enterprise application teams.
• Proven experience in leading the design, development, implementation, integration, and ongoing improvement of enterprise applications, software platforms, digital products, or business systems.
• Experience in formulating and executing technology strategic plans, application roadmaps, digital transformation initiatives, or major enterprise technology programs.
• Experience collaborating with IT vendors to implement strategic technology plans.
• History of partnering with business leaders to identify requirements and translate organizational needs into scalable technology solutions and product strategies.
• Experience in presenting recommended technology strategies and plans to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Skilled in managing technology vendors, SaaS platforms, system implementations, and technology-related contracts.
• Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Preferred experience with cloud-based application architectures, SaaS platforms, API integrations, data platforms, and modern software development methodologies.
• Preferred experience in implementing and governing AI-enabled technologies, automation solutions, and emerging technology capabilities.
• Preferred relevant certifications such as PMP, Scrum/Product Owner, SAFe, AWS, Azure, Microsoft, or TOGAF.
• Strong understanding of technology operations, software development, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, architecture, and technology service delivery.
• Excellent project management, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to lead organizational change, technology adoption, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.
• Ability to work in a non-smoking office environment and attend scheduled meetings as required.
