Senior Director, Regional Actuarial

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead the strategic vision for ACA pricing methodologies.

• Manage the annual rate filing process with CMS and State Departments of Insurance.

• Take ownership of substantial financial forecasts.

• Present executive-level briefings with actionable actuarial insights.

• Foster strategic partnerships across key business units, including Market Profit & Loss and Finance.

• Represent the Actuarial department in executive discussions.

• Direct complex analytical projects, including morbidity trends and competitive assessments.

• Impact enterprise-wide decisions related to pricing, strategic business growth, and network strategies.

• Assist in federal and state advocacy initiatives.

• Author thought leadership pieces on ACA regulations from an actuarial perspective.

• Provide mentorship, coaching, and development planning for team members.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline, or 4 years of relevant experience.

• 12+ years of quantitative analysis experience within the healthcare sector.

• 5+ years of experience collaborating with and influencing the Executive Leadership Committee.

• Demonstrated experience in a pricing position, or a related analytics-focused leadership role.

• Strong understanding of ACA-specific healthcare laws, regulations, and compliance standards.

• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) or on the pathway to achieving this designation. (Bonus points)
