This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +22 more states.
β’ Conduct actuarial research, experience studies, and perform statistical analyses and calculations.
β’ Compute premiums and reserves for both new and existing insurance products.
β’ Assist senior analysts or actuaries in their tasks.
β’ Gather and verify data for rate filings and actuarial models.
β’ Develop model enhancements and analyze reasons behind changes to calculated factors.
β’ Evaluate the impacts of modifications to product lines and segments.
β’ Update internal stakeholders on filing status and submit rate filings to regulatory agencies, such as NCDOI and CMS.
β’ Collect and verify data for monthly reports as well as UCL and ALR calculations.
β’ Aid valuation by executing the ALR model and confirming results.
β’ Conduct research to support ALR assumption studies and UCL estimates.
β’ Distribute established reports and address inquiries.
β’ Examine trends and anomalies.
β’ Implement control activities that support Enterprise Risk Management.
β’ Deliver analytical support for corporate and departmental initiatives.
β’ Engage actively in the Actuarial Development Program.
β’ Offer actuarial expertise and consultative assistance to Finance, Underwriting, Sales & Marketing, Network Management, Healthcare, and other business sectors.
β’ A bachelor's degree or an advanced degree (if applicable).
β’ A minimum of 2 years of relevant actuarial experience; related experience may also be considered.
β’ Candidates nearing graduation or recent graduates may be eligible for consideration.
β’ Completion of at least 3 exams towards the eventual achievement of the ASA designation.
β’ Additional relevant experience may be taken into account in place of the minimum exam requirements.
β’ ASA designation or additional exams towards obtaining the ASA may be accepted in lieu of minimum experience requirements.
