Senior Director, Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the post-sales integration lifecycle, from validating signed Statements of Work (SOW) to architecture, building, user acceptance testing (UAT), going live, and ongoing maintenance.

• Lead a dedicated team comprised of integration architects, engineers, and live support specialists.

• Assess technical feasibility, sizing, risks, gaps, and requirements outlined in signed Statements of Work.

• Establish integration architecture that includes data models, synchronization patterns, authentication, error handling, and Ellucian Ethos frameworks.

• Set standards and reference patterns while developing the integration architecture team.

• Ensure the quality of delivery, adherence to timelines, appropriate tooling, and creation of runbooks for integrations operating as Dagster jobs via the Ethos API.

• Supervise various integration types, including flat-file, SFTP-delivered CSV and fixed-width, Common App, and unique one-off integrations.

• Manage the health of post-go-live synchronization, monitoring, API versioning, enhancements, and escalation of incidents.

• Oversee the chat-based Live Support experience related to integration issues.

• Establish the operating model for integrations, recruit and develop the team, define processes, and choose delivery tools.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering on native integrations, product capabilities, specifications, trade-offs, and sequencing.

• Contribute to shaping the integrations strategy beyond SIS, encompassing LMS integrations and Bring Your Own Integrations.

• Define and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as time-to-integrate, timely SOW delivery, synchronization reliability, uptime, volume of escalations, support volume, and resolution time.

• Act as an escalation point for customer integration-related issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with at least one major student information system, preferably Ellucian Banner or Colleague utilizing the Ethos API.

• Practical experience in integrating a CRM with a student information system (SIS).

• Over 8 years of integration delivery or implementation experience in higher education or B2B SaaS environments.

• More than 3 years of experience leading technical teams of architects and/or engineers.

• Proven track record of owning delivery outcomes across a portfolio of integrations.

• Ability to validate signed SOWs, assess effort and risk, and define practical integration methods.

• Proficient in REST and SOAP APIs, webhooks, along with scheduled and event-driven data-pipeline orchestration.

• Familiar with Dagster, OAuth, API keys, bearer/session tokens, basic authentication, and Ellucian Ethos.

• Knowledgeable in the Python/AWS stack, including ECS, Secrets Manager, and S3.

• Acquainted with MongoDB and Snowflake/dbt data layers.

• Capable of interpreting payloads and testing integration architectures rigorously.

• Experienced in developing and structuring technical delivery teams across architecture, engineering, and support functions.

• Strong communication skills to engage with campus registrars, IT directors, engineers, executives, Sales, and Product partners.

• Preferred: experience in a higher-education SaaS company.

• Preferred: familiarity with Workday Student, Anthology/Campus Nexus, Populi, Destiny One, or CFNC.

• Preferred: experience in productizing managed/services offerings with Product.

• Preferred: knowledge of Dagster or similar orchestration, event-driven architectures, Docker/AWS ECS, and monitoring/observability tools like Sentry.
