This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Oversee the execution of various program portfolios and initiatives within the Global Health Security Health Programs portfolio.
• Provide operational oversight for a division consisting of multiple project teams.
• Encourage innovation and ensure the delivery of high-quality results that align with organizational goals.
• Collect and disseminate evidence, lessons learned, and best practices to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Offer leadership, guidance, and direction across award implementation, technical quality, innovation, and knowledge management.
• Deliver business analytics to sustain and grow market share in the relevant area.
• Represent FHI 360 as a thought leader in the field.
• Navigate the complexities of project implementation challenges and propose actionable solutions.
• Analyze project performance and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
• Make decisions regarding resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Cultivate partnerships with project teams, donors, and implementing partners.
• Facilitate communication and the exchange of knowledge.
• Establish and maintain relationships throughout FHI 360, including collaboration with Groups and Enterprise Support colleagues.
• Set strategic direction, manage budgets, and ensure programmatic quality.
• Manage project staff and design portfolio structure for optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
• Lead experienced technical experts, including supervision, performance management, and professional development.
• Contribute to sustainable development goals and positive public health outcomes.
• Bachelor’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Business Administration, International Development, Civil Society, Communication, Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, Environment, Gender, Health, Nutrition, Research, Technology, Youth, or a related field.
• A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in project management, overseeing complex projects and initiatives; or 12 years with a master’s degree; or 9 years with a PhD; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in leadership and line management.
• Proven experience in leading and managing complex, strategic portfolios of programs/projects at a national or international level.
• Experience in leading teams within complex environments, managing financial and human resources.
• Significant experience working in non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
• In-depth knowledge of project management principles.
• Expertise in program implementation methodologies.
• Proficient in organizational leadership practices.
• Expertise in strategic planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Proven track record of fostering innovation and achieving meaningful outcomes within their division.
• Ability to meet or surpass revenue targets across USG, foundations/corporations, and other donors.
• Approximately 25% travel may be required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Office 365, SharePoint, Skype/Zoom/Teams, and standard office equipment.
• Must adhere to safeguarding commitments and sign the code of conduct.
• Employment is contingent upon reference, criminal record, terrorism finance, and misconduct disclosure screening checks.
