This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of vulnerability management, dependency security, threat modeling, security code reviews, and addressing findings from penetration tests.
• Enhance the AWS security framework, including identity and access management, endpoint security, threat detection, and incident response capabilities.
• Design and deploy security controls for AI-driven products and workflows, focusing on protections against prompt injection, data leaks, and other AI-specific threats.
• Establish technical safeguards for the secure handling of PHI and sensitive data in LLM-powered systems.
• Implement and uphold the technical controls, evidence, and security practices required for HIPAA, SOC 2, and other compliance programs.
• Utilize AI-driven tools, automation, and contemporary security platforms to amplify security effectiveness.
• Create self-service security solutions, paved roads, and runbooks for engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Engineering and IT to provide scalable security solutions that support product velocity and business expansion.
• Act as a force multiplier for the Pod-Infra team.
• Report directly to the IT Lead.
• A minimum of 2 years of Security Engineering experience, with substantial expertise in either application security or infrastructure/cloud security, and a working proficiency in the other area.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and cloud security, including IAM, identity management (SSO, SAML, SCIM), network security, secrets management, and cloud-native security tools.
• Hands-on software engineering experience with the capability to read, review, and deploy production code in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Experience in implementing technical controls within regulated environments such as HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, PCI, or comparable compliance frameworks.
• Proven fluency with AI and LLM-powered tools, including practical experience in integrating them into daily engineering workflows.
• Strong grasp of AI security concepts, such as prompt injection, AI agent guardrails, data governance, PHI management, and AI vendor risk.
• Builder mentality with a focus on execution, ownership, and pragmatic problem-solving.
• Ownership mindset – committed to driving results for the mission, business, and customer experience.
• Excellent collaboration skills when working with thought partners from engineering, product, and legal teams.
