This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Oversee all cybersecurity activities within the organization, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity legislation, industry standards, and state regulations.
• Develop and manage the company's cybersecurity program, keeping it up-to-date and compliant at all times.
• Determine suitable security measures for the company's technological framework and threat landscape.
• Direct the organization's cybersecurity defense strategy.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to integrate security considerations into solutions from the outset.
• Provide strategic cybersecurity insights and influence significant business decisions through a security perspective.
• Act as the principal liaison with regulators during audits and throughout the year.
• Review and endorse cybersecurity policies, procedures, and written supervisory guidelines.
• Identify and document vulnerabilities in assets as well as internal and external threats.
• Conduct audits of critical security and continuity practices.
• Lead the selection, implementation, and monitoring of cybersecurity controls across the company’s systems, communications, physical offices, encryption, and remote customer access.
• Promote compliance with cybersecurity measures and standards throughout the organization.
• Review the cybersecurity policy annually and make updates as necessary.
• Keep records of policy reviews, actions taken, systems evaluated, and reports generated.
• Manage risks associated with third-party vendors and system dependencies.
• Regularly report to leadership on the status and health of the cybersecurity program.
• Complete a brief two-minute video question as part of the screening process.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, including direct responsibility for a security program.
• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience collaborating with security, DevOps, and incident response teams.
• Experience in a highly regulated sector and direct interaction with regulators.
• Knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container technologies.
• Proficient in Python, Golang, or a similar dynamic programming language.
• Experience in data warehousing and data analysis.
• Must currently reside in Latin America (LATAM) or Europe.
• Direct-to-consumer experience is preferred.
• A Master's degree is preferred.
• Comfort and expertise in using AI tools is a strong advantage.
• Basic understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology is a plus.
• A genuine enthusiasm for fintech and cryptocurrency is an added benefit.
