Cybersecurity Operational Technology (OT) Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Act as a key member of a cohesive team of engineering and cybersecurity professionals to bolster Chinook’s expansion in Industrial Control System cybersecurity.

• Provide consultation to clients regarding the secure design of ICS environments.

• Execute cybersecurity inventories and conduct risk assessments.

• Create security documentation.

• Design and implement cybersecurity solutions for ICS.

• Conduct in-depth technical analysis of Industrial Control Systems while integrating cybersecurity solutions.

• Recognize operational challenges and implement changes or upgrades to enhance cyber resilience.

• Carry out inventories and risk assessments for critical infrastructure.

• Execute testing, hardening, and monitoring of industrial control systems.

• Analyze incidents and establish risk management procedures and processes.

• Maintain proficiency in cybersecurity capabilities of operational technology vendor hardware and software.

• Evaluate and assess computer and network systems technologies, architectures, and products.

• Keep abreast of cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines relevant to critical infrastructure.

• Resolve technical challenges while ensuring other departments are updated on progress.

• Plan, design, develop, and implement technical controls, procedures, and policies to support compliance with NIST, ISA/IEC 62443, DoD RMF, and OT Zero Trust.

• Review designs and specifications for operational technology systems, including secure systems integration.

• Engage in the development of company processes and procedures.

• Participate in company meetings, training seminars, and other functions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance based on customer and project requirements.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant operational technology experience.

• IAT Level II Certification (Security+, GICSP, etc.) is required.

• Experience in designing and configuring servers, switches, and workstations.

• Proficient in designing and programming control system devices.

• Familiarity with RMF and NIST 800-53.

• Experience with UFGS 25 05 11.

• Proficient with cybersecurity tools such as Wireshark, Nessus, STIG Viewer, and SCAP Tool.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams, MS Project, PowerPoint).

• A valid state-issued driver’s license and the ability to travel to various work sites.

• Preferred: Active Secret or higher security clearance.

• Preferred: IAT Level III Certification (CISSP).

• Preferred: Certifications in Cisco, Juniper, Moxa, and/or other network switches.

• Preferred: Certifications in MS Windows Server, Active Directory, Enterprise OS.

• Preferred: Certifications in Linux Operating Systems.

• Must be capable of walking on construction sites with uneven surfaces, carrying up to 25 lbs., climbing stairs and ladders, and working indoors and outdoors in severe weather, confined spaces, and dust-generating environments.

• Must maintain spatial awareness, adhere to safety standards around mechanical and electrical building equipment and systems, and wear PPE when necessary.
