Senior Director – Global Ethics & Compliance Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the main Ethics & Compliance contact for Global Government Affairs as well as Import/Export/Trade Compliance.

• Assist in the execution of global Conflict of Interest Disclosure Program policies, enhancements in technology/AI, disclosure initiatives, and monitoring efforts.

• Oversee vendor management and budget coordination for COI tools and systems.

• Lead training and communication efforts related to global COI disclosures.

• Conduct and provide consultation on high-risk COI evaluations, serving as a Subject Matter Expert for COI investigations.

• Ensure the integrity and responsiveness of COI intake systems and the processes for case assignment.

• Promote compliance with supervisor training and maintain compliant COI program materials on a global scale.

• Offer guidance on lobbying, political contributions, export controls, sanctions, customs, and other related business activities.

• Support the seven elements of an effective compliance program as defined by the Office of the Inspector General.

• Direct annual risk assessments, monitoring strategies, training, communication, metrics reporting, and corrective/preventive measures.

• Collaborate across functions with Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Privacy, Protect Lilly, Finance, Procurement, and Human Resources.

• Influence leadership and business partners concerning compliance risks, new capabilities, and progressive business practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree.

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Ethics and Compliance.

• At least 3+ years of experience in government affairs/lobbying compliance or trade compliance.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

• Lilly will not provide work authorization or visa sponsorship.

• Experience in leading conflict-of-interest frameworks, disclosure systems, or COI evaluation processes.

• Familiarity with Lextegrity is advantageous.

• Proven integrity with no compliance violations in the past 12 months.

• Strong judgment and capability to facilitate quality business decisions.

• Ability to influence decisions and outcomes collaboratively.

• Effective communication skills to lead and inspire change throughout the organization.

• Strategic mindset with the ability to operationalize strategies.

• Proficient in translating ambiguity and complexity into actionable frameworks.

• Skilled in working across boundaries and influencing without having formal authority.

• Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and results-driven approach.

• Preferred: 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related healthcare industry.

• Preferred: Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree.
