This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the quarterly and annual financial reporting and closing processes for 12–24 LFM-managed funds and associated entities.
• Examine financial statements, reconciliations, investment activities, expenses, allocations, and other financial data related to the funds.
• Provide the final review and authorization of financial reports for the funds.
• Address financial reporting inquiries and analyze results, trends, variances, and issues for executive leadership.
• Assist in the annual budgeting process and fund-finance reporting throughout the fund's lifecycle.
• Manage Broadstreet Impact Services along with other third-party accounting, treasury management, and loan servicing providers.
• Oversee vendor deliverables, ensuring quality standards, timelines, and service issues are monitored.
• Supervise treasury management activities, controls, cash transactions, bank account management, and loan servicing.
• Collaborate with LISC Finance on fund activities and parent company financial reporting.
• Lead annual fund audits, organizational audits, and prepare for SEC examinations, including responses.
• Act as the primary finance liaison for auditors and examiners.
• Develop policies for fund finance, closing procedures, internal controls, quality assurance practices, and scalable reporting processes.
• Guide, mentor, and develop the Senior Associate in Fund Finance.
• Collaborate with Fund Managers, LISC Finance, Investor Relations, Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders.
• Escalate significant accounting challenges and convey insightful financial information to leadership.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, fund finance, or financial reporting, with substantial direct experience in investment fund accounting and financial reporting.
• Proven experience in leading recurring quarterly and annual closing processes across multiple investment funds or similar investment entities.
• Comprehensive understanding of the entire fund financial lifecycle, including accounting closure, financial statement preparation and review, reconciliations, audits, ongoing fund operations, and fund wind-down.
• Proficient in reviewing and analyzing balance sheets, income statements, supporting schedules, and fund accounting workpapers; able to identify errors, inconsistencies, and trends, and communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.
• Experience in overseeing third-party fund accounting, treasury management, and loan servicing providers.
• Familiarity with managing fund-level treasury activities and controls, including cash handling and bank account administration.
• Working knowledge of loan servicing operations is required.
• Extensive experience leading financial processes for annual fund audits and organizational financial audits.
• Experience in supporting SEC examinations or similar regulatory examinations in an investment management context.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, investment fund accounting and financial reporting, internal controls, and relevant investment management regulatory requirements.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent stakeholder and relationship management abilities.
• Capacity to handle multiple concurrent fund closings, audits, vendor relationships, and reporting deadlines.
• Experience in supervising, reviewing, mentoring, and developing finance or accounting professionals.
• Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
• CPA or another relevant accounting or finance certification is preferred.
• Experience in private equity, private credit, real estate, impact investing, or similar investment fund settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with funds at various lifecycle stages is desirable.
• Experience in establishing or enhancing fund finance policies, closing procedures, internal controls, and reporting practices is preferred.
