Senior Director, Data Strategy and Information Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the data strategy initiatives for business units and improve strategic decision-making utilizing data assets.

• Collaborate with business leaders to leverage data for driving revenue growth and cost reduction.

• Ensure compliance with regulations and implement effective risk management practices.

• Supervise product management, data methodologies, data processing, quality control, and both internal and external data asset clients.

• Lead the development and deployment teams along with Reporting Analysts to deliver impactful solutions and best practice implementations.

• Act as the main technical representative for designated business units.

• Work alongside corporate and client IT teams to address security, IT initiatives, AWS infrastructure, SQL database, server, and application vulnerability challenges.

• Function as the Product Owner and coordinate with corporate data and development teams.

• Offer data expertise across various programs and projects.

• Create and uphold the data roadmap, prioritize data tasks, and oversee data programs.

• Assist strategic initiatives where effective data management is essential.

• Lead the monitoring, assessment, and adherence to data governance, data quality, and data sourcing policies.

• Partner with business leaders to devise, execute, and promote evolving data capabilities.

• Champion data-driven methodologies and enhance the utilization of data insights in decision-making processes.

• Encourage the adoption of standardized data management terminology, language, and viewpoints.

• Travel as required for organizational or departmental events, meetings, trade shows, conferences, and client engagements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the healthcare and/or PBM industry is required.

• At least 10 years of management experience.

• Over 10 years of experience with Data Warehouse methodologies and SQL database development.

• Proficiency with the complete Microsoft SQL Server toolset (SSIS, SSRS, SSMS, SSAS, RDBMS).

• Experience in healthcare technology and online pharmacy claims adjudication is preferred.

• Proven ability to create, motivate, and inspire cross-disciplinary teams.

• Skill in translating strategic plans into actionable priorities and processes.

• Exceptional oral and written communication, as well as presentation skills.

• Technical prowess in engineering, data and business analytics, and business intelligence.

• Familiarity with agile methodologies, PowerShell, Python, AWS, GitLab, Visual Studio, .NET, C#, JSON, XML, VisualCron, Power BI, Tableau, and cloud-based database solutions like Azure SQL Database and AWS RDS.

• Advanced SQL capabilities, including data modeling, DBO creation, management, OLAP principles, and indexing.

• Expertise in diagnosing application and database issues, conducting root cause analyses, and recommending corrective measures.

• Capability to architect, design, develop, and implement both microservice and monolithic architecture solutions.

• Understanding of non-relational databases such as MongoDB and Cassandra, as well as big data technologies like Hadoop and Spark.

• Knowledge of pharmacy industry standards including NCPDP, HL7, ANSI X12, and relevant drug database terminologies and classifications.

• Familiarity with Medicare Part D, PDE submissions, pharmacy claims, and benefit management.

• Must be able to travel to multiple site locations within the assigned territory.

• Availability for extended hours as necessary.

• Must be available outside normal business hours on an ad-hoc basis to fulfill customer expectations.
