This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the DevSecOps and platform engineering ecosystem for a federal modernization initiative.
• Design and implement CI/CD processes across various applications, technology stacks, and environments.
• Facilitate builds, tests, and deployments to be completed in less than an hour.
• Automate production releases with zero downtime, ensuring verification and clean rollback capabilities.
• Automate environment provisioning and teardown through code.
• Integrate security and quality gates, vulnerability scanning, remediation, authorization evidence, and Zero Trust principles into pipelines.
• Establish observability across infrastructure, applications, interfaces, batch jobs, and business transactions.
• Manage incidents and problems, perform root-cause analysis, oversee capacity and performance management, and ensure disaster recovery.
• Maintain stability, patching, and authorization of legacy systems while modern platforms take over their functions.
• Measure and enhance engineering metrics, including build times, deployment frequency, defect escape rates, and toil reduction.
• Lead, mentor, recruit, and develop engineers; establish and uphold engineering standards.
• Utilize AI tools for infrastructure definitions, scripting, pipeline tasks, failure diagnosis, log analysis, test coverage, documentation, and automation.
• Design AI-enabled features such as pipeline diagnostics, automated remediation, vulnerability analysis, knowledge retrieval, developer self-service, and agentic workflows.
• Collaborate directly with federal customers and decision-makers, articulate technical decisions, and challenge erroneous technical directions.
• Engage in architecture decisions, pipeline engineering, production troubleshooting, and code reviews.
• Extensive hands-on experience in DevSecOps and platform engineering.
• Experience designing and operating CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and deployment automation for real-world production systems across multiple technology stacks.
• Background in federal delivery within regulated environments.
• Knowledge of authorizations to operate, federal security controls, vulnerability remediation SLAs, and mandated tools.
• Proven production ownership, including availability, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
• Experience in engineering security controls, scanning, and evidence generation within delivery processes.
• Demonstrated use of AI-in-the-loop engineering with tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
• Technical leadership experience, including direct management of engineers, making accountable architecture decisions, and clarifying technical trade-offs.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
• Must be based in the U.S.
• Ability to obtain and uphold a federal Public Trust clearance is required.
• Secret clearance is not necessary.
• Experience with Salesforce platform or Copado pipeline is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with government cloud environments, Splunk, or enterprise monitoring integration is helpful but not required.
• Previous experience with authorization packages, POA&M management, or Zero Trust principles is beneficial but not essential.
• Knowledge of legacy-system decommissioning or dual-stack transition experience is helpful but not required.
• Experience in mortgage or housing finance is not required.
• A specific degree or years of experience are not mandatory; demonstrated capability is prioritized.
