Senior DevSecOps Engineer – Microsoft

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the engineering of the Azure cloud platform, manage AKS operations, automate infrastructure, oversee CI/CD processes, enhance observability, ensure platform reliability, and implement AI-driven delivery methodologies.

• Integrate security measures, compliance protocols, automation, scanning processes, secrets management, and secure release controls within delivery pipelines.

• Collaborate closely with government stakeholders, architects, engineers, product owners, cybersecurity professionals, operations teams, and business users to translate requirements into platform functionalities.

• Design, configure, develop, integrate, test, document, and maintain Microsoft Azure capabilities.

• Establish and enhance CI/CD pipelines, implement infrastructure as code, manage container platform operations, and automate secure deployment monitoring and alerting.

• Convert business, mission, security, accessibility, and operational requirements into effective technical solutions.

• Support platform architecture, refine backlogs, plan implementations, ensure release readiness, and facilitate production transitions.

• Create reusable patterns, configuration standards, automation scripts, documentation, and support procedures.

• Diagnose complex issues involving platform configuration, code, data, APIs, identity management, security, performance, and user experience.

• Collaborate with teams focused on cybersecurity, privacy, data management, infrastructure, quality assurance, and change management.

• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation including design choices, implementation notes, test evidence, and operational runbooks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 7 years of experience in DevSecOps, cloud security, and platform automation.

• Practical experience with the implementation, configuration, development, integration, testing, or operations of Microsoft Azure.

• Experience working within Agile delivery teams and effectively translating stakeholder requirements into sustainable technical outcomes.

• Extensive hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure capabilities, implementation patterns, administration, development, integration, and lifecycle management.

• Capability to design and implement secure, maintainable, upgrade-aware solutions that minimize unnecessary customizations and reduce technical debt.

• Familiarity with APIs, identity and access controls, data management, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and release coordination.

• Proficient in documenting technical designs, configuration decisions, operational procedures, test outcomes, and risks using clear business and technical language.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with government stakeholders, product owners, engineers, quality assurance, cybersecurity, and operations teams.

• Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

• Preferred: Certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator, Azure Developer, Azure Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer Expert, Security Engineer, or Kubernetes.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting federal government IT environments, Public Trust programs, or regulated enterprise delivery.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Section 508, cybersecurity, auditability, data protection, and operational documentation requirements.

• Preferred: Experience with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure as code, or platform release automation.

• Preferred: Understanding of federal security and compliance concepts, including NIST controls, FISMA, FedRAMP-authorized services, audit evidence, and least privilege principles.

• Preferred: Experience enhancing platform governance, reuse, documentation, observability, and operational readiness.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, Atlassian, Snowflake, data catalog, CRM, or enterprise integration ecosystems.
