This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Contribute to the evolution of a dynamic, innovative open-source organization
• Assist clients focused on Smart Cities in overcoming challenges related to data management, mobility, energy, and climate
• Work collaboratively with the team to create cutting-edge software architectures
• Execute software architectures utilizing modern technologies
• Provide support for solutions throughout their complete lifecycle, from initial prototype to production deployment
• Facilitate customer training sessions and workshops
• Collaborate with customers to develop customized solutions
• Create and manage highly reliable and secure Smart City and urban data solutions
• Engage with IoT sensor networks and automated cloud platform infrastructures
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in IT, preferably with a focus on software development and operations
• Degree in computer science, business informatics, electrical engineering, or completion of IT-related vocational training; candidates transitioning from other careers with relevant additional training or experience are also encouraged to apply
• Proficiency in German at a minimum C1 level, with confidence in everyday professional interactions
• Willingness to engage with customers and conduct training sessions and workshops (approximately twice per month, remotely)
• Familiarity with DevOps tools
• Experience with cloud-based microservices
• Understanding of agile development environments
• Background with Software as a Service, containers, Kubernetes, or automated deployment
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly familiarize oneself with new projects
• Passion for methodically addressing technical challenges
• Experience with open-source projects through personal initiatives is advantageous
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, C#, or shell scripting; eagerness to quickly learn new programming languages
• Familiarity with CI/CD, GitOps, Helm, Ansible, or Terraform
• Willingness to occasionally provide daytime weekend on-call support
• Flexible working hours ranging from 30 to 40 hours per week (part-time or full-time)
• 100% remote work from anywhere in Germany
