Senior Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Operate, maintain, and enhance the performance of Fleetio’s Ruby on Rails stack and infrastructure.

• Scale the application using top-notch architecture and software design principles.

• Proactively detect, prioritize, and resolve performance challenges.

• Monitor performance metrics across Ruby, Rails, and database systems, including Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs).

• Develop and uphold AI agents, skills, and automations to minimize operational toil.

• Utilize AI-assisted tools for performance analysis, root-cause investigation, and code reviews.

• Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to tackle performance bottlenecks.

• Assist product engineers in adopting AI-driven workflows for performance and reliability.

• Lead initiatives for database capacity planning and upgrades.

• Manage the planning and execution of database disaster recovery.

• Oversee backup systems and pre-production databases.

• Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure and operations, including runbooks.

• Participate in the on-call rotation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Ruby/Rails.

• 3+ years of experience with AWS.

• Experience with Kubernetes.

• Proficient in profiling and benchmarking source code.

• Skilled at conducting code reviews and identifying potential performance issues before they reach production.

• Familiarity with Datadog or other Application Performance Management (APM) tools.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
