Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design and scale AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure as the team size and usage expand.

• Create and implement strategies for zero-downtime deployments along with automated rollback procedures.

• Develop and maintain Terraform modules utilized by the engineering team for infrastructure updates.

• Oversee capacity planning and manage costs across production systems.

• Integrate observability into services using tools such as Honeycomb, Sentry, and CloudWatch.

• Manage CI/CD pipelines within GitHub Actions.

• Take ownership of networking and traffic routing decisions, including load balancing and DNS.

• Provide support for Scribe’s Specialized Intelligence platform, which captures workflows and transforms them into a dynamic asset for individuals and AI agents.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.

• Extensive knowledge of AWS, including EKS, VPC, S3, and RDS/Aurora.

• Proficient in the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

• Experience in production Kubernetes, encompassing cluster administration and multi-environment management.

• Practical experience with Terraform at scale, including module creation and state management.

• Familiarity with CNCF tools such as Helm and Karpenter in a production environment.

• Proven experience in building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

• Skilled in using Honeycomb, Sentry, and CloudWatch for troubleshooting production issues.

• Expertise in implementing zero-downtime deployments with automated rollback capabilities.

• Strong grounding in networking principles: TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and traffic routing.

• Experience managing asynchronous job processing and message queues at scale.

• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.

• Demonstrated history of capacity planning, performance optimization, and cost management.

• Familiar with authoring AGENTS.md files and DNA scaffolding.

• Must reside within the U.S. Pacific Time Zone.
