DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Lead or independently conduct intricate computer engineering tasks that encompass system design, software, networks, integration, and maintenance for the MFOM system.

• Convert requirements and architectural decisions into actionable designs.

• Evaluate technical methodologies, interfaces, code/configuration, and testing outcomes.

• Troubleshoot complex incidents and performance issues, determine root causes, and recommend corrective measures while ensuring availability, security, and data integrity.

• Offer technical leadership to engineering teams.

• Collaborate with architecture, software, systems, database, infrastructure, and quality personnel throughout releases.

• Participate in technical evaluations, change-impact assessments, deployment planning, and engineering documentation.

• Deliver senior technical guidance for container-related engineering, including platform-service integration, release pipelines, security protocols, and MFOM system interfaces.

• Assist the United States Navy through the MFOM system and software engineering support project.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active US Top Secret level clearance with SCI eligibility.

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science from an ABET-accredited institution.

• DoD 8570/8140 Level II or III certification.

• AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.

• At least 10 years of experience with a Master's degree or a minimum of 14 years with a Bachelor's degree in computer design, software development, or computer networks.

• One year of container experience, which may be obtained concurrently.

• Senior-level expertise in designing, integrating, and maintaining secure, scalable, cloud-native, or hybrid enterprise systems.

• Knowledge of AWS architecture and operations, infrastructure as code, automation, CI/CD/DevSecOps, database and API integration, monitoring, and disaster recovery.

• Experience with container orchestration, image lifecycle and hardening, deployment automation, and troubleshooting distributed containerized workloads.
