Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage AWS GovCloud environments, incorporating multi-account frameworks, guardrails, logging, security tools, and provisioning through Terraform.

• Create and maintain release and update processes for cloud fleets, which include essential security updates, staggered rollout windows, coordinated installations, and validation.

• Establish a continuous compliance evidence pipeline for FedRAMP 20x Key Security Indicators.

• Gather, normalize, re-verify, and report machine-readable compliance evidence.

• Equip production with telemetry, service level objectives (SLOs), dashboards, and alerting systems.

• Streamline CI/CD pipelines for building, signing, artifact management, quality checkpoints, and security scanning.

• Engage in on-call duties for the GovCloud estate and work to eliminate recurring causes of incidents.

• Take ownership of reliability, change control, and continuous compliance processes for AWS GovCloud environments.

• Report directly to the SRE Manager within the VP of Application Engineering’s team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must be US-based; standard US-person criteria for federal environments apply.

• Proven experience in building or operating within a FedRAMP Moderate or High boundary, or IL4/IL5 or StateRAMP equivalent.

• Familiarity with continuous monitoring, POA&M lifecycle management, patch SLAs, and 3PAO engagement.

• Proficiency with AWS GovCloud, multi-account landing zones, FIPS endpoints, and cryptographic modes.

• Experience in managing VM fleets or appliance-model operations at scale, extending beyond just Kubernetes.

• Skilled in owning telemetry and data pipelines, including OTEL and Grafana-class technology stacks.

• Knowledge of compliance-as-code and evidence automation, including OSCAL, machine-readable continuous monitoring, AWS Config rules, or OPA at scale.

• Capability to build test and verification engineering harnesses.

• Experience with Terraform, CI/CD, security tools, staged rollouts, and fleet patch validation.

• Willingness to participate in on-call duties for the GovCloud estate.
