Senior Engineer, DevOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in architectural and design discussions, providing insights and recommendations on technologies, frameworks, and tools.

• Take part in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

• Support the estimation, prioritization, and planning of development tasks.

• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies, and Infrastructure as Code tools in accordance with DevSecOps principles.

• Optimize the deployment and administration of microservices and APIs on AWS.

• Create and implement monitoring, logging, and performance enhancement tools to ensure observability and resilience.

• Engage in security assessments, risk reviews, and vulnerability management initiatives.

• Detect and resolve potential threats within microservices, APIs, and AWS infrastructure.

• Must possess US Citizenship or a Green Card - sponsorship is not available.

• US residency for a minimum of the past 3 years is required.

• Must meet the criteria to hold a Public Trust position, including successful completion of a US Government background investigation.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, or Typescript.

• Skilled in Bash scripting for task automation.

• Proficient in infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation.

• Comprehensive knowledge of AWS services including EC2, Lambda, EKS, ECS/Fargate, RDS, EventBridge, CloudFront, S3, ApiGateway, CloudWatch, and WAF.

• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly GitHub.

• Experience with AWS EKS / Kubernetes.

• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation.

• In-depth knowledge of AWS, with a focus on VPC, Subnetting, Security Groups, IAM Roles, and Network configuration.

• An SRE mindset with the capability to trace errors from logs to the specific point in the system requiring changes.
