Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, implementation, and management of developer tools, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.

• Deploy, monitor, and manage software across essential production systems that serve tens of thousands of customers.

• Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers.

• Facilitate standup meetings, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.

• Provide technical guidance in partnership with Architecture, SecOps, Data Engineering, and Development teams.

• Collaborate with developers and product teams to gather requirements for tooling, automation, and infrastructure.

• Convert requirements into actionable stories and designs.

• Design, implement, and support continuous delivery systems.

• Advise development teams on code and implementation strategies to enhance application resiliency, operability, and adherence to best practices.

• Create, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code for both development and production environments, with a focus on Kubernetes and Kafka.

• Establish, implement, and sustain observability and monitoring solutions.

• Monitor system health and take proactive measures to ensure uptime and performance SLAs are met.

• Report directly to the DevOps Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in DevOps within a SaaS environment.

• Proficiency in distributed systems, including container orchestration, distributed messaging, and distributed databases, with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes and Kafka.

• Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms, primarily AWS.

• Expertise in infrastructure-as-code languages, particularly Terraform and Ansible.

• Experience with automated deployment methodologies, especially Jenkins and GitHub Actions.

• Previous professional experience in application development, especially with SaaS applications and web development.

• Understanding of software engineering and design principles, including design patterns, architectural patterns, CAP Theorem, and event-driven architecture.

• A security-focused mindset at all levels.

• Preferred experience with NGINX, networking, and security.

• Preferred experience with NoSQL and/or Big Data technologies.

• Preferred knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

• Preferred experience with C# and .NETCore.
