Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the Proxmox and Ceph platform, encompassing capacity management, upgrades, performance optimization, and incident response.

• Manage infrastructure across OVH, Hetzner, and bare metal, alongside workloads hosted in AWS and GCP.

• Drive efforts in resource rightsizing and validate savings reflected in infrastructure bills.

• Spearhead the segregation of development workloads into a dedicated cluster without causing production downtime.

• Oversee infrastructure as code through tools such as Terraform, Ansible, ArgoCD, and GitLab CI.

• Ensure system reliability, which includes on-call duties, incident response, root cause analysis, and maintaining runbooks.

• Provide support for the product data layer utilizing PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and Aerospike.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience working with infrastructure and physical hardware, not limited to managed cloud solutions.

• At least 5 years of experience running Kubernetes and cloud platforms in a production environment.

• Practical experience with bare metal systems and providers such as OVH and Hetzner, in addition to AWS and/or GCP.

• Proficient in Terraform, Ansible, ArgoCD, and GitLab CI.

• Demonstrated experience in Financial Operations (FinOps).

• Hands-on production experience specifically with Proxmox and Ceph.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, or Aerospike at scale.

• Experience in partitioning shared environments into isolated clusters.

• Proven ability to build observability and on-call practices from the ground up.

• Background in high-load B2B SaaS environments.

• Infrastructure described in code as a standard practice.

• Capability to analyze problems down to their root cause and implement solutions.

• Strong communication skills for conveying risks and negative news directly.
