Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the build, test, and deployment pipeline.

• Implement progressive rollouts, swift rollbacks, and practices to enhance deployment confidence.

• Create and enforce fully reproducible infrastructure environments through code.

• Define and meet uptime targets that are contractually mandated by banking clients.

• Develop monitoring, alerting, and incident-response capabilities.

• Evolve on-call practices from reactive to a systematic approach.

• Ensure that change management, access controls, and audit logging generate evidence required by regulated financial institutions.

• Collaborate with the security team to address SOC 2 and banking due-diligence needs.

• Manage and optimize the cloud expenditure.

• Act as the first dedicated DevOps hire, overseeing infrastructure from start to finish.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles.

• Experience as an initial or sole infrastructure hire is highly preferred.

• Strong proficiency with AWS.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code in production environments.

• Proven experience in building CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with observability, system instrumentation, SLOs, and incident management processes.

• Comfortable working in a regulated or compliance-driven setting, or eager to learn about SOC 2 and ISO 27001 standards.

• Preference for automation and mechanisms over manual processes.

• Ability to document the systems you create.

• Pragmatic judgment suitable for a company growing from 50 to 400 employees.

• Experience in fintech, banking, or other regulated industries is a plus.

• Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS architecture is a plus.

• Experience in database operations (including backups, migrations, and performance) is a plus.

• Security-related skills such as secrets management, network segmentation, and least-privilege IAM are a plus.
