Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in managing scope, schedule, and delivery needs with minimal oversight from leadership.

• Play a role in shaping the program's DevOps and software engineering strategies.

• Work collaboratively with various teams to streamline and enhance DevOps tools and services.

• Provide mentorship to team members.

• Guide small, less critical, temporary team structures and projects.

• Present design documentation and system diagrams to clients, stakeholders, partners, and engineers.

• Design cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines while assessing cost, reliability, and efficiency trade-offs.

• Create libraries, modules, and packages for infrastructure engineers.

• Develop cloud infrastructure that supports applications and enhances the developer experience.

• Establish CI/CD processes aimed at delivering higher-quality software more rapidly.

• Integrate tools to meet quality thresholds, identify security vulnerabilities, and conduct static analysis.

• Construct application test and deployment pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, CircleCI, and GitLab CI.

• Collaborate with government partners and application teams to fulfill security, SLA, and performance expectations.

• Engage in technical-depth interviews with candidates.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree along with 7+ years of professional software engineering experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

• Proficient understanding of key DevOps principles: software installation, virtualization, containerization, networking, etc.

• Expert-level experience with Terraform/Terragrunt.

• Expert-level proficiency in GitHub Actions and Argo CD.

• Expert-level knowledge of HAProxy/OpenResty.

• Expert-level expertise in AWS Cloud Services, including EKS/Kubernetes.

• U.S. citizenship or valid legal authorization to work and reside in the United States without employer sponsorship.

• Capability to successfully complete and maintain any necessary government background investigation.

• Preferred: familiarity with both DevOps and SRE functions.

• Preferred: expertise in observability tools such as Datadog.

• Preferred: experience with security tools like Trivy and Aqua.

• Preferred: knowledge of the FedRAMP/ATO process.
