Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and uphold secure cloud-native delivery platforms utilizing AWS, EKS/Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and GitOps methodologies.

• Take ownership of and continually enhance DevOps platform standards, reusable delivery patterns, secure pipeline practices, and governance frameworks.

• Create reusable automation, deployment patterns, scripts, and platform capabilities to enhance reliability, scalability, compliance, and developer productivity.

• Lead the resolution of technical challenges, troubleshooting, code reviews, and engineering standards for intricate delivery and infrastructure concerns.

• Assist with cloud implementations, upgrades, migrations, and change requests using reusable, well-governed components.

• Keep abreast of trends in cloud, DevOps, AI-assisted engineering, and platform technologies.

• Collaborate with Scrum teams, application teams, security, infrastructure, and leadership to align platform initiatives with delivery priorities, operational requirements, technology updates, and cloud cost targets.

• Identify inefficient cloud usage, opportunities for right-sizing, and cost-effective design choices.

• Keep stakeholders updated on solution progress, risks, decisions, implementation timelines, and opportunities for enhancing delivery or reducing operational costs.

• Identify gaps in solutions, issues with managed service providers, technology risks, and opportunities for standardization, automation, cost optimization, or improved resilience.

• Elicit and convert business, functional, and non-functional requirements into technical plans and recommendations.

• Evaluate ACT DevOps processes and the ecosystem of repository, bootstrap, Jenkins, Jira, Bitbucket, Ansible, Terraform, ArgoCD, AWS, and EKS.

• Develop initial tool and platform roadmaps.

• Build trust and relationships with Scrum teams and stakeholders as a reliable DevOps subject matter expert.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of progressively responsible IT experience, encompassing DevOps, platform engineering, cloud automation, or infrastructure delivery.

• Proficiency with CI/CD automation tools, cloud automation, Infrastructure as Code, and software version control.

• Experience with Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, AWS, and Git is preferred.

• Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, cloud-native deployment patterns, and GitOps.

• AWS EKS and ArgoCD experience is preferred.

• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms.

• Background in managed services, project delivery, change management, or complex enterprise technology settings.

• Strong grasp of modern DevOps, platform engineering, CI/CD, GitOps, cloud-native delivery, observability, and DevSecOps practices.

• Proficient in Linux administration, scripting, and automation skills with Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.

• Ability to communicate effectively, develop relationships across teams, and translate business needs into practical technical solutions.

• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, analytical thinking skills, and capacity to operate with a high degree of autonomy.

• Ability to mentor, guide, and influence technical teams while promoting standards, continuous improvement, and responsible AI-assisted engineering practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience in modernizing legacy deployment processes into cloud-native, GitOps, or platform engineering models is advantageous.

• Background in enterprise software development or managed services is a plus.

• Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship requirements.

• Final candidates will undergo a criminal background check.

• Completion of the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate is recommended.
