This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +5 more countries.
• Oversee Slack threads and tickets, with an even distribution of approximately 50/50
• Assess build failures, pipeline issues, dependency conflicts, and configuration errors
• Deliver prompt and precise context prior to escalation
• Independently diagnose intricate build, packaging, or artifact issues
• Examine Maven builds, Java compilation, Docker images, Artifactory repositories, Jenkins jobs, and Spinnaker pipelines
• Offer structured support throughout incidents
• Conduct comprehensive analyses before escalating concerns
• Collect necessary information and generate high-quality escalation tickets
• Update and enhance FAQs and internal documentation
• Develop problem-solution one-pagers for recurring challenges
• Thoroughly document newly resolved issues
• Coordinate incidents involving multiple users and significant build failures
• Maintain communication during investigations, root-cause analyses, and resolutions
• Manage multiple developer inquiries and concurrent issues
• Engage in weekly team meetings to review escalated tickets
• 2–5 years of experience in Build/Release Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or software development
• Proficiency in Git
• Expertise in CI/CD tools, including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI
• Understanding of Build and Release engineering fundamentals
• Familiarity with Maven and Java build tools
• Knowledge of the software supply chain lifecycle
• Experience with artifact repositories such as Artifactory or Nexus
• Familiarity with Spinnaker or comparable deployment orchestration tools
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Proficiency in Unix and Linux command-line
• Scripting skills in Python or Bash
• Knowledge of containers, including Docker or Kubernetes
• Strong skills in Linux, scripting, Git, and container management
• Solid experience with Linux/Unix systems
• Familiarity with build tools such as Maven or Gradle, along with container and artifact management systems
• Lack of CI/CD experience or poor communication skills are disqualifying factors
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus/Grafana is a plus
• Previous experience in SRE is also a plus
