Senior Developer, UX Design – Front End

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Facilitate user research and discovery sessions with stakeholders from the Department of the Interior.

• Diagram workflows and user journeys.

• Develop wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes for intricate data structures and AI-driven processes.

• Maintain design consistency and establish accessibility guidelines across digital platforms.

• Construct applications utilizing Microsoft Power Apps Canvas and Model-Driven apps, PCF controls, and Power Automate workflows.

• Enhance low-code platforms using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

• Work in collaboration with data developers to connect backend Azure SQL data and AI endpoints to front-end experiences.

• Ensure that interfaces adhere to federal Section 508 accessibility standards.

• Contribute to a federal business and IT modernization initiative.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8–10 years of experience in front-end software development or UI/UX design.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Advanced practical experience in building custom, high-fidelity applications using Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate.

• Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS/SASS.

• Familiarity with modern prototyping tools such as Figma or Adobe XD.

• Demonstrated experience in creating compliant, accessible interfaces for federal or public sector applications.

• Capability to pass a federal background investigation to secure a DOI Public Trust clearance.

• Preferred: previous experience supporting the Department of the Interior or other federal agencies.

• Preferred: experience in designing interfaces for complex data visualizations, dashboards, or AI/ML search results.

• Preferred: Microsoft certifications such as Power Platform Developer Associate or Power Platform Functional Consultant.
